Life-based learning enables children to learn about and actively engage in a sustainable partnership with the living and non-living world.
The focus of World is how humankind can live in harmony with the planet — stewardship of, rather than dominion over, its resources.
Three aspects of World
The World area of life-based learning has three themes.
- Plant life
- Animal world
- The physical world
The interdependence of the three themes is of crucial importance
The underlying concept is a world as it it created by the interdependence of all things living and non-living inhabited by human beings to the advantage and disadvantage of that world and ultimately to the advantage and disadvantage of human life itself.
