MAC fosters an understanding of our place in the history, social geography and citizenship of Britain, exploring what is meant by loyalty to, and pride in, one’s country.

The key question ‘What makes Britain what it is today?’ opens up opportunities to draw parallels with the past such as the movements of people in to and out of the country over the last two thousand years.

The use of the ‘community’ concept to frame learning in history, social geography and citizenship deepens children’s understanding of, and strengthens their commitment to, society.
